*UPDATE* FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL SOCCER GAMES VS. WINOOSKI ON THURSDAY 9/12 Due to a lack of available officials for the MS soccer games on Thursday vs. Winooski, the games will be played one after the other, as opposed to at the same time. Schedule is as follows: 4:30pm Girls 5:30pm Boys Both games will take place on the JV Soccer field. Good luck!

Our school farm is always bustling with activity. Sun flowers soaking up the sun and our chickens happy to greet visitors! Thanks to all our summer volunteers who helped keep these gals well tended.

Wednesday 8/21 Athletic Updates: -Due to unplayable field conditions the JV Girls soccer scrimmage at Lake Region has been cancelled. The varsity scrimmage is still ON. Bus departs 2:15. JV has the day off. -The boys varsity soccer home scrimmage vs PA is still on at 4:30. -Cross country and Football are practicing as scheduled.

BFA FAIRFAX HIGH SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY AND BOYS SOCCER PRACTICE UPDATE (MONDAY 8/19) Due to the current heavy rains, and risks of continued storms (and not able to go into the building for shelter) during the 3-4:15 practice timeframe, High School Cross Country and High School Boys Soccer practices are canceled today, Monday Aug. 19. Tomorrow's practices will take place as scheduled. Please stay tuned for updates on other team practices scheduled to start later this afternoon/evening.

March 12, 2023 Last week, the Champlain Valley Superintendents Association (CVSA) met to review our decision to have school in session on April 8th, the solar eclipse day. Since our initial decision to have a half day, we have received more information trying to keep any traffic off the road that day from the state of Vermont and other Public Safety offices. The superintendents determined that each county of superintendents would decide whether the school would be open or closed. Due to the fact that our schools are in the path of the totality and will attract a large number of eclipse observers, the Franklin and Grand Isle Superintendents have determined that on April 8th, we will close schools and make up the day at the end of the year, very similar to a snow day. Thank you for your support and understanding.

D3 BOYS BASKETBALL QUARTERFINAL INFORMATION Congratulations to our #7 BFA Fairfax Varsity boys basketball team on their win over Green Mountain last night! Their next game will be a D3 Quarterfinal matchup at #2 Thetford Academy on Saturday, February 24th. Game time is 2pm. Tickets can be purchased on site at Thetford, doors open at 1:30pm. Good luck!

BFA will be on a two hour delay this morning. The town is down plow truck drivers and will not be able to have the roads cleared in time to ensure safe travel by our buses and students at our regular time. All other FWSU schools will be on a regular schedule.

The JV/V boys basketball games vs Stowe tonight 1/24 are postponed. Makeup TBD.

All FWSU Schools will be on a two hour delay due to uncertain road conditions and power outages. Please be safe and stay tuned for updates.

Out of an abundance of caution, we are cancelling all after school and evening activities at any Franklin West school (Fairfax, Fletcher, and Georgia) today. We are monitoring river conditions for potential impact on travel in the morning. We will update you as we have new information.
