Today, we relaunch the FWSU Blog for the 2023-24 school year. For the past 10 years, we have shared the stories of our schools on a regular basis to give insight, provide background information, and share the joy that is evident in our schools. The frequency has changed over time and this year we are committed to providing two posts every week when school is in session.
Franklin West Supervisory Union serves students and families in the towns of Fairfax, Fletcher, and Georgia. Our current enrollment is 1660 students.
- BFA-Fairfax is a preK-12 school. Thomas Walsh is the principal of the preK-4 Elementary School which has 387 students, Heather Baron is the principal for the 286 students in the 5-8 Middle School, and Elizabeth Noonan is the high school principal which includes 259 students in grades 9-12. Geri Witalec-Krupa (Director of Student Activities) and Dana Gore (Dean of Students) round out the BFA administrative team.
- Fletcher Elementary School has 122 students in grades preK-6. Denette Locke is Fletcher’s principal. Fletcher students have school choice after grade 6. Many Fletcher students select BFA-Fairfax for middle and high school.
- Georgia Elementary and Middle School is a preK-8 school led by the team of Principal Steve Emery, Dean of Students Melissa Fisher, and Director of Teaching and Learning Karen Lehning. Georgia currently has 608 students. Georgia students have school choice for high school and attend high school at BFA St Albans, South Burlington, Colchester and Essex High Schools, and several others.
